Gwyn trained and worked as a psychcotherapist, spending many years working with children, adolescents and adults in mental health settings.   Her experiences led her to believe in the power of art and animals as instruments of healing.  Gwyn recognizes the importance of animals in the lives of their families and creates one of a kind personalized portraits of living or departed pets.  Gwyn creates each portrait from a photograph and information about the pet's personality in order to capture the essence of the animal.  Additionally she creates outdoor pet memorials using concrete, glass and tile to commemorate pets who have died.  Gwyn uses a portion of proceeds from commissions to help the many animals not fortunate enough to have a loving family and home of their own.
